January 27 2011 - Leadership Institute holds elections

Carlee Alm-LaBar, 2011 Chairperson of the Leadership Institute of Acadiana.

Lafayette, LA  - New officers and board members were elected at the annual meeting of the Leadership Institute of Acadiana (LIA) on January 26.  Carlee Alm-LaBar was installed as Chairperson for the Board. Sharon Bourgeois was recognized as immediate past-Chairperson for 2009-10.

Other officers elected include Rob Robison, Chair-elect, and Rick Latiolais, Treasurer.  New Board members include Jean-Paul Coussan, Geno Felix, Marilyn Lee, Lynne Lieux, Katherine Moody McCormick, Lise Anne Slatten and Tom Will.

Continuing Board members include Magdy Bayoumi, Ben Berthelot, Jules Broussard, Josh Chamblin, Jay Culotta, Craig Duplechin, Julie LaFleur, Melanie Martin, Mike Olivier, Lea Ann Remondet, Michael Smith, Jeanne Solis, David Strother, C.B. Talley and Margaret Trahan.

LIA serves as the governing board for the Lafayette Junior Leadership, Leadership Lafayette and Leadership Alumni Programs while encouraging community leadership development and responsible citizenship through the Acadiana region.  Graduates of other local, regional, state or national leadership programs are invited to become dues-paying members of LIA through the Leadership Lafayette Alumni Program.
